Where is It?

Galway’s Land National Park is a small national park in Sri Lanka’s Nuwara Eliya district that was designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1938. Galway’s Land was designated as a national park in 2006. The park was established to protect the montane habitats. The Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka believes Nuwara Eliya’s Victoria Park and Galway’s Land to be two of the most important birding areas in Sri Lanka.

Galway’s Land is home to 20 uncommon migrating bird species as well as 30 local species, as well as buffalo, wild boar, barking deer, and other wildlife. Aside from the avifauna, the park is home to numerous floral species, both native and exotic.
