General Best Time to Visit Sri Lanka for Nature & Wildlife Tours
- Dry Season: December to April is the best time to visit for wildlife safaris, especially in the national parks of the south and east (like Yala, Udawalawe, Wilpattu).
- Monsoon Season: May to September can be the best time for safaris in the dry zone parks as the wildlife tends to concentrate around waterholes. However, the wet season can be heavy in the central and western regions, so trekking in areas like Sinharaja and Horton Plains may be more challenging.
